Phang Nga, Thailand
We took a boat out to ‘James Bond’ island. The island is actually a piece of limestone rock that emerges from the sea in the shape of a nail – narrow at the bottom and wide at the top – and it leans to one side, looking as if it is about to topple over. It featured in the film ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’, where James Bond flies his plane around the island. In the film the island loked quite big but in reality it was tiny. Later we made our way to the Thailand/Malaysia border by bus, and Mike was hungry. When the bus stopped, he bought some cake, ate half, and gave the rest to me. I was just about to take a bite when I noticed a tiny brown ant. On closer inspection, we noticed that there were hundreds of them all over the sides of the cake and on the packaging. There must have been tons on Mikes already eaten cake! YUK! I was laughing but Mike was not amused!! Poor Mike spent the next 5 minutes killing all the ants that had crawled all over his body and face and kept murmering in disbelief “I ATE ANTS” for the rest of the day.
